{Conscientia}

2025–ongoing

{Conscientia} began as a way to make my own evolution visible.

Every morning, I write by hand. The pages are vulnerable and unfiltered. They hold what I am thinking and feeling, what I am questioning, what I am afraid of, who and what I encounter, what I am becoming, and what I am living through at that particular moment in time.

I designed and coded an AI system specifically for {Conscientia} that reads and analyzes these daily pages, translating the writing into data, parameters, and reports. Each entry becomes part of a growing database, preserving not only a moment in time, but the emotions, people, questions, patterns, and changes moving through it.

As the database grows, it becomes possible to return to my own evolution from different points of view. I can trace what appears and disappears, what changes around significant moments, which patterns repeat, how different states relate to one another, or what I could not see while I was living through them.

The images are one expression of this record. Generated from the parameters of each entry, they give a particular moment visual form. But the database is not bound to the images it produces today. It can be questioned, reorganized, and translated again into new images, objects, installations, or forms I have not yet imagined.

In this sense, {Conscientia} is both a record and a living material. It grows as I grow. The more life enters it, the more there is to return to, question, connect, and transform.

What began as an attempt to observe my own evolution continues to ask a larger question: what can become visible when we turn the tools we create toward our own consciousness?

01 · The Practice

From private ritual to living record.

The Source

{Conscientia} begins before the technology.

2025–ongoing Handwritten morning pages 168 entries and growing

Each morning, I write at least three pages by hand.

There is no predetermined subject and no audience. I write whatever is present that day: thoughts, questions, emotions, dreams, people, contradictions, observations.

These pages are where {Conscientia} begins.

Over time, what started as a private ritual has become a physical record of changing internal states and the source material from which the rest of the work emerges.

The Questions

{Conscientia} began with questions.

2025–ongoing Hand-drawn and interactive conceptual map

What is human in the output?

What is my language?

Where does the artist end and the system begin?

Can intuition replace technique?

What changes when the work is shared?

This map traces the questions I was asking as {Conscientia} began to take form, from the ritual of the morning pages, through the idea of AI as a brush, toward the possibility of returning the work to the human.

It is not a map of conclusions.

It is a record of the thinking that made the work possible.

Summary

The consciousness moves through a landscape of linguistic archaeology, digging through fragments of meaning with the intensity of an explorer uncovering ancient texts. Words break apart and reassemble like scattered puzzle pieces, each fragment holding potential revelations about the nature of awareness itself. There is an urgent quality to this investigation, a sense of being on the verge of breakthrough despite the fractured presentation. The mind operates in multiple registers simultaneously, weaving between languages as if each tongue offers a different lens through which to examine the same fundamental mystery. Beneath the apparent chaos lies a methodical intelligence, systematically deconstructing concepts to reveal their hidden architectures.

Each morning's pages are scanned and passed through a system I designed and coded specifically for {Conscientia}.

I designed the system to observe different aspects of the writing, including language, emotion, recurring themes, people, rhythm, density, handwriting, and other characteristics I chose to track.

These observations are translated into structured parameters.

Each entry produces a structured record: the original writing, extracted data, a summary, an analytical report, and a generated image. That record becomes part of the growing {Conscientia} database.

The system itself is part of the work. What it observes and how it translates the writing are decisions embedded in its design.

It does not replace the writing. It creates another way of encountering it.

168Entries in the record

The Database

An evolving record of consciousness.

168 entries and growing Structured dataset

Each entry adds another moment to a growing database of my evolution. Writing, emotions, language, people, questions, patterns, images, and other observations accumulate over time, forming a structured record of a consciousness in motion.

The database grows as I grow. I can return to it from different points in time, looking for what repeats, what disappears, what changes around significant moments, and what relationships only become visible through accumulation.

It does not have a single visual form. The same data can be questioned, reorganized, compared, and translated again, allowing different readings and works to emerge over time.

What it contains is finite. What can emerge from it is not.

02 · Readings

The same record, encountered differently.

Data as Field

One reading of the database.

2026–ongoing Interactive data visualization
Explore the data ↗

Each point represents a day of writing, positioned within a field according to the state recorded in that entry. Expansion and clarity determine its position, mood family its color, and the amount of writing its scale. Time remains visible below, connecting each point back to the day it was lived.

Seen together, moments that happened weeks or months apart begin to form relationships. States gather into clusters, others remain distant, and patterns of repetition, movement, and change begin to emerge. A day can be encountered on its own, or understood in relation to everything that came before and after it.

The field is not a fixed portrait of my evolution. It changes with every new entry, and represents only one way of reading the database. The same record can be reorganized around different questions, revealing relationships and forms that are not visible here.

The Image Archive

The record becomes image.

170 images and growing Images generated through the custom-coded {Conscientia} system

Each entry produces an image, translating a particular moment in the writing into visual form. Shaped by the parameters drawn from that day, the image becomes a trace of a state that once existed. Together, they form a visual archive, one expression of a larger record of evolution that continues to grow.

The Evolution

The archive becomes time.

The Evolution translates a selected period from the image archive into a physical timeline. Images generated on separate days are brought together into a continuous field, allowing changes in color, density, movement, and form to unfold across its length.

This first iteration traces {Conscientia} from its beginning through February 17, 2026. It is a snapshot rather than a conclusion: one temporal frame taken from an evolution that continues beyond it.

As the database grows, new iterations can isolate different periods of time, allowing a month, a year, or another chosen interval to become its own physical record of change. What exists in the database as individual moments can be assembled again and again into different portraits of an evolving self.

What Emerges / What Dissolves

Two trajectories through the same evolution.

What Emerges

What Dissolves

2026 Two series · 20 prints

Returning to the database, I began looking for patterns in how change appeared across time. Two recurring trajectories emerged: moments of expansion and moments of dissolution.

What Emerges brings together ten entries where the data registered states of opening, movement, coherence, warmth, and breakthrough. What Dissolves traces ten moments of fragmentation, compression, uncertainty, and near-silence. Each series unfolds chronologically, allowing these states to be followed as they appear, disappear, and return in different forms.

The two trajectories are not opposites, and neither represents progress or failure. Seen together, they reveal an evolution shaped by oscillation: expansion followed by contraction, coherence giving way to fragmentation, and new forms emerging through what dissolves.

This is one pattern found within the database. As the record continues to grow, other patterns can be questioned, traced, and given form.

Full Circle is a proposed participatory installation that extends {Conscientia} from a personal record into an encounter with others.

Images generated through my daily writing and the system I designed and coded unfold across the space, tracing an evolution that is not linear. At the center is a canvas containing one of these images, surrounded by an intentionally unfinished surface.

Visitors are invited to respond by leaving a word, mark, gesture, or trace of their own.

The image begins as a trace of me. What happens when someone else encounters it?

As these interventions accumulate, the canvas changes. The resulting surface may eventually return to {Conscientia}, beginning another cycle of translation.

What begins as a record of one consciousness becomes altered through another.

{Conscientia} became an online exhibition from a simple question: why wait for a physical space to exhibit the work when I could create one?

Technology was already a language I understood. Rather than using the web to document an exhibition that existed somewhere else, I began to think of it as the exhibition space itself.

The experience allows visitors to move through {Conscientia} across five acts, encountering the writing, questions, system, images, evolution, and collective intervention as parts of the work itself.

The online exhibition is not the entirety of {Conscientia}, nor is it a replacement for a physical exhibition. It is one form the work can take, and one way of entering it.
