Veronica Lopez Garcia · 2025–ongoing · five-act exhibition
{Conscientia} began with a private ritual: writing by hand every morning.
This exhibition traces what happened when I began asking how that internal experience could move beyond the page. It starts with the handwritten entry in which the idea first emerged, followed by the map I created while questioning what the work could become, what its medium might be, and where the human exists when artificial intelligence enters the creative process.
From there, the writing moves through a system I designed and coded, translating it into data, parameters, reports, and images. As they accumulate over time, the data forms a growing archive of my evolution, while the images give that evolution visual form, revealing change as something that is never entirely linear.
The images are the current visual expression of this growing archive, while the underlying data can be revisited, questioned, and translated into other forms over time.
But my evolution does not happen in isolation.
The people I encounter, the relationships I form, and my exchanges with the world around me become part of who I am and how I change.
{Conscientia} begins as a private practice, moves through a system I created, and returns to the human. The viewer is invited to intervene, allowing another person's presence to enter a growing collective archive.
Across five acts, {Conscientia} moves between human, system, image, and human again, asking where authorship lives and what changes as it passes from one to another.
Currently housed within The Invisible Gallery, the exhibition can move between digital and physical space, changing form with its context while preserving the movement across its five acts.
WE ARE ALWAYS BECOMING, WITHIN OURSELVES AND THROUGH EVERYTHING WE CREATE, ENCOUNTER, AND SHARE.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE MAKE THIS EVOLUTION VISIBLE?
