About the Artist

Veronica Lopez Garcia

Mexico-born · Miami-based

I observe.

I am drawn to what is present but not always easy to see.

A shift in myself. A pattern that keeps returning. Something happening between people. An intuition I cannot yet explain. The invisible structures shaping how we experience ourselves and the world around us.

Observation is where my work begins.

My Path Here

I was born in Mexico and have spent much of my professional life in technology.

I have worked across IBM, Oracle, Uber, and Microsoft, primarily in product management, building products and working with complex technological systems. I am currently completing a master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Pennsylvania.

That world taught me to think in systems. To look for relationships between things. To understand how information moves, how structures behave, and how an idea can become something that actually exists.

But this has never been the only way I understand the world.

I write. I follow intuition. I have a spiritual practice. I am interested in consciousness, human behavior, vulnerability, connection, and the parts of our experience that cannot always be measured or explained.

For a long time, these existed as different parts of my life.

Art became a place where they no longer had to be separate.

My Practice

My work often begins with something I notice but do not fully understand.

I may write about it, sit with it, question it, collect it, build a system around it, translate it through technology, or make something with my hands. I do not begin by deciding what medium the work needs to become.

Sometimes technology is part of the answer.

Because it is a language I know deeply, I can work with computation, artificial intelligence, data, and digital systems as artistic materials. But I am not interested in technology for its own sake. I am interested in what it might allow us to perceive differently.

Other times, the work may need an image, an object, a physical space, another person, or no visible technology at all.

The question comes first.
The medium follows.

Where I Am Now

I am currently based in Miami, developing a practice that moves between inner experience and the world around me.

My current body of work, {Conscientia}, began with my daily handwritten pages and an attempt to observe my own evolution. It has since become a growing body of work moving through writing, data, computation, image, material, and participation.

I created The Invisible Gallery while asking another question: if I did not yet have a physical gallery in which to exhibit, could I create a space for the work myself?

The web became its first manifestation.

Today, I understand The Invisible Gallery more broadly: as a container for an artistic practice that is still becoming, one that can move between digital and physical spaces and change as the work changes.

I do not know exactly what it will become.

That is part of the practice.
